In this short interview, Kim Trogal gives her testimonial about the feminist pedagogy at SSoA, the approach at the time she was studying there, her memories and the legacy it had in her career. In addition, she talks about the current situation of architectural education in its relation to feminism. Towards the end of the interview, Kim tells us how she imagines a future feminist school of architecture.

Dr Kim Trogal is a Reader at the Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts. She undertook her architectural studies at Sheffield School of Architecture, finishing her PhD in 2012, for which was awarded the RIBA LKE Ozolins Studentship. Her PhD, titled Caring for Space Ethical Agencies in Contemporary Spatial Practice, investigated contemporary spatial practice through the lens of a feminist ethics and politics of care. Trogal’s research covers the intersecting fields of feminist theory, relational ethics, political economy, ecology and spatial practice. In addition, it examines questions of commons, work and social reproduction in architecture.
